The high school basketball regular-season ends Thursday night for Four County Conference teams.

East Bladen’s Lady Eagles (12-0 in league play and 22-0 overall) have home games remaining with Union (4-8) Tuesday night and West Bladen (5-7) Thursday night.

Coach Patty Evers’ squad has already clinched the No. 1 seed in the Four County Tournament and will host a first-round game next Monday night against winless Heide Trask.

West Bladen’s Knights (7-5 in the league and 16-6 overall) stayed alive in the chase for the Four County Conference’s No. 1 spot in the Class 2A State Play-offs with a 72-63 victory Friday night over Clinton (9-3).

Coach Travis Pait’s Knights need wins at Midway (6-6) Tuesday night and East Bladen (2-10) Thursday night and also need help from Heide Trask (11-1) and Wallace-Rose Hill ((8-3) in their games against Clinton this week.

If that scenario doesn’t happen, the Knights will probably be seeded No. 4 or No. 5 for the conference tournament. That would mean a Monday game at Heide Trask against Midway.

West Bladen’s Lady Knights (5-7 in league play and 7-14 overall) travel to Midway (6-6) Tuesday night. The Lady Knights could tie Midway for fourth place with a victory.

Win or lose Coach Rick Rhoda’s Lady Knights will most likely be in the No. 4/No. 5 opening round game against Midway next Monday night at East Bladen.

East Bladen’s Eagles (2-10 in league and 5-15 overall) host Union (0-12) and West Bladen this week.  Coach Ken Cross’ Eagles led Wallace-Rose Hill by 25 points Thursday night, but eventually lost a heartbreaker on a 3-point shot at the buzzer.

The Eagles could conceivably tie Pender for sixth place, but whether they finish as the No. 6 or No. 7 seed, they will play Tuesday night against either Clinton, Wallace-Rose Hill or West Bladen at either Clinton or Wallace-Rose Hill.
