Dublin – Bladen Community College welcomes Dr. Dolly Horton as the new Vice President for Academic Affairs and Workforce Development.
Dr. Horton comes to us from Bishop State Community College in Mobile, Alabama, where she served as the Dean of Health Sciences. While at Bishop State, she assisted in the development of their new health sciences division, the creation of two new medical training facilities, and their strategic plan of action for the growth of new health-related programs. She previously served as the Vice President of Academic and Student Services at Isothermal Community College, the Dean of Allied Health and Public Service at Asheville Buncombe Technical Community College, and as the Coordinator for Medical Assisting at Mayland Community College.
A lifelong educator and North Carolinian, Dr. Horton received an Associate of Applied Science in Medical Assisting from Western Piedmont Community College, a Bachelor of Science Degree from Western Carolina University, a Master of Education from Regent University, and a Doctorate of Education from Walden University. As the new Vice President, Dr. Horton will lead BCC’s academic areas, contribute to the development and execution of the strategic vision and program development at the college, and begin the implementation of a one-college organizational structure for the academic division.
