The Beast of Bladenboro Festival planning committee, Boost the Boro, excitedly announced the happenings of the upcoming 14th annual Beast Fest last week. The event will take place in downtown Bladenboro on October 29th and 30th. With musical entertainment, food vendors, local arts and crafts vendors, Trunk or Treat, a costume contest, a car show, and more, the event is predicted to be the “Best Beast Fest yet.”

On Friday, October 29th at 5:30 pm, the festival will begin with a welcome and opening. Various food vendors will be on-site, as well as Fun Time Amusement Rides. North Tower Band will begin the first night of musical entertainment at 7 pm. North Tower has been one of the south’s great party bands for over 35 years, providing the best in Top 40, beach, funk and oldies music. They will perform with sizzling brass, super vocals, and a wide ranging repertoire of music until 10 pm.

Beast Fest will continue on Saturday morning, and roll into Halloween Eve night. The opening ceremony will begin at 10 am, with Sarah from “The Big Wake Up” with Don Chase and Sarah on 95.7 WKML, as Mistress of Ceremonies.

Southeastern Cruisers Car Show will begin at 8 am and end at 3 pm. The car show will take place downtown on Railroad Street.

Arts and crafts vendors will be in business from 9 am until 6 pm, offering a wide variety that makes for fun shopping and browsing.

Food vendors and Fun Time Amusement will be at Beast Fest all day long on Saturday, October 30th, from 10 am until 10 pm.

For the first time ever, there will be a Beast Fest Cornhole Tournament. Event planners shared that there has been much community interest in this event. It will begin at 12 pm on Saturday at Beast Fest. Read more: Beast Fest Cornhole Tournament 

Local talent will take the stage from 10:30 am until 12 pm, and 12:15 pm  until 2:15 pm. Lane Ward will perform at 3 pm.

The night time entertainment will be just as fun as the daytime entertainment, with New Light Church’s annual Trunk or Treat on Railroad Street starting at 5 pm, and a performance by Gary Lowder and Smokin’ Hot from 7 pm until 10 pm. Gary Lowder and Smokin’ Hot is an R&B party band, covering decades of hits from your favorite artists and genres of music including soul, rhythm and blues, funk, reggae, jazz standards, country, 50s and 60s, and Carolina Beach Music.
