Bladenboro Middle School had special visitors from Boost the Boro, Inc and a crew from UNC-TV stopped by the school on Wednesday, October 26. During the visit, Bladenboro Police Chief Chris Hunt captured the Beast of Bladenboro with a little from the Bladenboro Middle Bulldog just in time for the 10th annual Beast Fest this coming weekend, Oct. 28th and 29th.
Boost the ‘Boro Vice President, Shane Todd, gave a presentation at Bladenboro Middle School regarding the legend of the Bladenboro Beast and Beast Festival.
One of the festival’s founders, Hiram Hester, had a great-niece in attendance at the school’s assembly. Megan West said she had been to every Beast Fest since it started 10 years ago. When we asked her what she thought her late uncle would think about the growth of the festival, she said, “I think he would be proud.”
