Becky Kelly, an agent with State Farm Insurance in Elizabethtown, is celebrating her 35th year with the company. She began working for Mr. Eddie White in August 1981.
She says that no two days are alike when you are selling insurance. Kelly offers a variety of products including automobile, homeowners, life, disability, flood and commercial insurances.
“It’s rewarding when I help someone with something and then they benefit from it later,” said Kelly.
When asked who she chose insurance as her career of choice, Kelly said it didn’t start out that way. She said initially, when she submitted her application to Mr. White, she had just completed high school and was seeking a summer job.
“I got into it and I just stayed with it and started learning how to do the quoting and then I learned the rest of it,” said Kelly.
She said she enjoys what she does and helping her clients. “I really like talking with people,” said Kelly.
She said she also enjoys her fellow co-workers. Kelly said she is not one who enjoys change and she finds the variety in her work to be rewarding.
