A benefit is planned to support Ayven’s Sunny Place which is a non-profit group offering support to families with critical ill children. The event will take place on Saturday, September 8th, at the Lumber River Camp Ground located at 570 Tar Landing Road, Evergreen.

According to the Facebook page for the non-profit, the funds raised will be used to construct the first house in Brunswick County for critically ill children and their families to enjoy a trip to the beach between their treatments.

The event will include plenty to see and do. On Friday, September 7th, there will be a spaghetti plate sale and corn hole tournament. Cost fo plates is $7 each.

On Saturday, there will be a visit from Christian the Clown and trail rides beginning at 10 a.m. Cost for the trail ride is $25. Barbecue plates will be available for purchase from 4 until 7 p.m. Cost of barbecue plates is $8 each.

There will also be a visit from the Sunshine Heroes at 3 p.m. and games and bounce houses will be available from 1 until 7 p.m.
