There will be a benefit ride and chicken plate sale on Saturday, August 6, for Freddie Pait. Registration for the ride will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Dublin Lions Club building with kickstands up at 9:45 a.m. and the ride will depart at 10 a.m.

There will be a 50/50 drawing and the chicken plate sale will begin at 11 a.m.

Pait is a self-employed truck driver with no medical insurance. On June 20, Freddie was admitted to Bladen County Hospital with pneumonia and as his conditioned worsened he was transferred to Cape Fear Valley hospital where he underwent lung surgery on July 2. Pait was released on July 8 with Home Health nurses monitoring his condition. He is also on oxygen 24 /7. Pait was readmitted to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center on Monday. He has a long road of recovery ahead and all proceeds go to his medical bills and transportation.
