Benton files for election

Filing for the 2016 Primary election set for March 2016 has been slow to take off but another candidate has made his intentions to seek public office known.

Curtis Timothy “Tim” Benton of Bladenboro has filed for the democratic primary for the NC House District 46 seat.  He will join Lib. candidate Thomas Howell Jr. also of Bladenboro and Republican candidate Brenden Jones.

The seat is currently held by Dem. Ken Waddell who announced earlier in the year he will not seek re-election.

NC House District 46 comprises all or portions of Bladen, Columbus and Robeson counties.

The deadline to file for election is noon on Monday, Dec. 21.
