Jason Wright, a New York Times, Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author, will be the featured speaker at this year’s Festival of Trees’ Holiday Luncheon. It will be 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, at Northwood Church, 2672 James B. White Highway in Whiteville.

Wright will share his inspirational and moving message about the “Christmas Jars” movement. His bestselling novel, “Christmas Jars,” is a story and tradition to warm hearts this holiday season.

Wright is a weekly columnist for the Deseret News and Northern Virginia Daily. His articles have appeared in more than 50 newspapers and magazines across the United States including The Washington Times, The Chicago Tribune and Forbes.

He is the author of “The James Miracle” (2004); “Christmas Jars” (2005); “The Wednesday Letters” (2007); “Recovering Charles” (2008); “Christmas Jars Reunion” (2009); “Penny’s Christmas Jar Miracle” (2009); “The Cross Gardener” (2010); “The Seventeen Second Miracle” (2010); “The Wedding Letters” (2011); and, “The 13th Day of Christmas” (2012).

Wright is also a popular speaker who speaks on faith, the joy of service, the lost art of letter writing and more.

“We are thrilled to have Jason Wright as this year’s luncheon speaker,” Lindsey Champion, Lower Cape Fear Hospice development manager, said. “Jason personifies Christmas through his books, articles and ‘Christmas Jar’ movement. Guests will certainly leave the luncheon inspired and touched by his message.”

Tickets for the luncheon are $35 per person or $250 for a table of eight. Pre-purchase of tickets is required.

The 10th Annual Bladen/Columbus Festival of Trees will be from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Nov. 16-Nov. 21 at Northwood Church, 2672 James B. White Highway in Whiteville.

Proceeds from the festival and luncheon go to work immediately providing hospice services and programs to the community.
