The Unification Bike Ride rolled through Bladen County on Saturday afternoon as part of the Unity in Community weekend, an event designed to bring the community together as one, said organizer Fletcher “Big Show” Collins.

Kick stands went up about noon and the riders traveled along N.C. 87 South to N.C. 87 Bypass to N.C. 11. Participants then rode along U.S. 74/76 to N.C. 211 and U.S. 701 before returning to Big Show Auto Finishes in Elizabethtown.

The Unity in Community weekend began Friday with a Meet and Greet at Big Show’s located on N.C. 87 Business. Saturday night featured a Block Party Social.

Sunday, a camp fire, seafood festival, including crab legs and the trimmings, will be held at Big Show’s. The weekend will end with Monday’s Dr. Martin Luther King parade through downtown Elizabethtown.

Collins said everyone is welcome to attend.
