Big box stores began opening on Thanksgiving day a few years ago to start the Black Friday shopping early. Crowds were out in Elizabethtown taking advantage of the savings after their meals on Turkey Day.
Walmart, Goody’s, CVS Pharamacy, and Walgreens were all open offering huge savings on Thursday, Nov. 24th. Shoppers in Walmart reported getting to the store at 4:00 p.m. and staying until 6 or 7 p.m. to be sure and grab the items they wanted for the holidays.
CVS employees said they had been swamped until around 6 p.m. when the sales started at Walmart. Goody’s Thanksgiving sale lasts until 1 a.m.
