The Black History Appreciation Committee was formed with the purpose of observing and celebrating the rich history of Blacks in and around Bladen County. The major focus is to emphasize that Blacks have contributed quite a bit to the overall agricultural history of Bladen County.
To honor the many contributions of the Black population, the committee will sponsor the 11th Annual Black History Program at the Paul R. Brown Leadership Academy, 1300 South Martin Luther King Street, Elizabethtown, on April 8. The program will begin promptly at 11 a.m. A meal will be provided. Everyone is cordially invited to attend.
