Bladen County SportsBladen County Recreation’s 12-and-Under Girls Basketball All-Stars won three games Saturday to reach the semi-finals of the State-Wide Activities Committee (SWAC) State Tournament in Pinehurst.

Bladen Co. opened play Saturday morning with a 20-10 victory over Duplin County. In Saturday’s second game, Bladen County rolled to a 31-16 victory over Sampson County.

The Bladen County squad claimed their third victory of the day when they defeated Carteret County 21-18.

Sunday at 11 a.m. Bladen County will play Onslow County. The winner of that game advances to play Sandhills in the championship game. Bladen County must defeat Sandhills twice to claim the championship.

Sunday’s games will be played at the Southern Pines Recreation Center at 160 Memorial Park Court.

The Bladen 12-and-Under Boys All-Stars were eliminated in the SWAC Boys State Tournament Saturday in Spring Lake when they lost to the host Spring Lake All-Stars 41-21.
