Athletes from West Bladen and East Bladen will compete Saturday in the NCHSAA Class 2A State Track & Field Championships Saturday on the Irwin Belk Track on the campus of North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro.
Representing West Bladen at the state meet will be senior Jonathan Robinson in the shot put and sophmore Tyre Boykin in the triple jump. Both Robinson and Boykin placed fourth in their respective events at the MidEast Regionals.
East Bladen’s 4×200 meter relay team finished second at the MidEast Regionals to qualify for the state meet. Members of the Eagle relay team are sophmore Lawson Hester and seniors Keymon Cromartie, A. J. Wynn and Trevarius Carter.
The meet will begin Saturday at 10 a.m. Admission is $10 and parking for the event is also $10. The Class 4A state meet will also be held Saturday at the same location.
