The East Bladen Cougars asserted dominance against their opponent New Brunswick 17-4. The Cougars started off the 1987 season off well with a victory in the season making them 4-0 in the Waccamaw Conference.

In the top of the first, East Bladen would score the first five runs of the game. New Brunswick would score two runs to narrow down the margin in the second after allowing no runs in the second. East Bladen would answer with four runs in the top of the third inning and were up by a large margin putting the game out of reach.

East Bladen’s offense was led by Alan West, Kevin Stone and Will Brinson totaled two hits each in the victory. Will Brinson allowed four hits, struck out seven batters and allowed only one walk in the victory.
