Bladen County Commissioners meet Monday for a regular session. Normally the board meets bi-monthly, however, the first meeting of the month was cancelled, so the agenda for the next meeting is lengthy.

Numerous items are listed on the Consent Agenda, including a Resolution in memory of Benjamin (Ben) Wayne Greene. Mr. Green has been very instrumental in assisting in the area of economic development, much behind the scenes, for many years. Also included on the same agenda are numerous annual agreements that must be approved at the beginning of a new fiscal year.

Commissioners will receive a financial update for the previous fiscal year. The numbers will be unaudited. The audit will come later in the year.

Cris Harrelson, Health and Human Services Director has numerous annual agreements that must be approved by the board and he is expected to request Commissioners approve new business hours for the Bladen County Animal Shelter.

A couple of other department heads are expected to appear before the board including Bradley Kinlaw, County Fire Marshall and Sheriff Jim McVicker.

County Manager Greg Martin will update the board on several upcoming events and the commissioners will go into executive session to discuss a personnel issue.

The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Commissioners room in the Bladen County Courthouse. The regulars session is open to the public.
