On the Agenda is consideration of approving a Capital Outlay Projects list for Bladen County Schools; and consideration for a rezoning request regarding property located at the intersection of NC 41 West and NC87 in Dublin.

The Bladen County Water District Board of Directors has considerations for contracts on the Agenda.

Two other important matters of interest for the Board to consider are a resolution in support of House Bill 921-Tier 1 Community Reinvestment and a resolution to disengage from Eastpointe LME/MCO and re-align with Trillium.

According to NCLEG.gov, House Bill 921 states, Tier I Community Reinvestment is, “AN ACT TO PROVIDE LOANS TO QUALIFYING BUSINESSES THAT DID NOT 3 RECEIVE COVID-19 FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AND GRANTS TO NONPROFIT 4 CORPORATIONS AND LOCAL SCHOOL ADMINISTRATIVE UNITS LOCATED IN 5 TIER ONE COUNTIES.”

Eastpointe LME/MCO is a managed care organization (MCO) responsible for working with individuals and families in eastern North Carolina who struggle with substance abuse, mental health, and intellectual and developmental disabilities. However, Commissioner Charles Ray Peterson, the Bladen County Substance Misuse Task Force Chair, has reported that Eastpointe has been inactive for over a year on the task force.

Also noted on the Agenda are 20 county advisory boards needing one or more new appointments to serve.

The meeting will be held in the Commissioners’ Room, located on the lower level of the Bladen County Courthouse, 106 East Broad Street, Elizabethtown, and is scheduled to begin at 6:30 pm.
