Bladen County Economic Development director Chuck Heustess and Steve Yost, who is president of N.C. Southeast, are expected to discuss economic development with the Bladen County Board of Commissioners on Monday during a special meeting at the Powell-Melvin Agriculture Center in Elizabethtown. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. and is open to the public.

The commissioners are expected to hear about the recent Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats (SWOT) analysis regarding economic development in Bladen County. A SWOT analysis helps organizations identity internal and external factors that are favorable and unfavorable to achieve objectives.

After the report by Heustess and Yost, the board will review each area as it relates to economic development in Bladen County, according to the meeting agenda.

The board also is expected to consider meetings as needed on education, law enforcement, mental health and health.
