The Bladen County Board of Commissioners are expected Monday night to consider approving an agreement with the US Marshal’s Office regarding the Federal Inmate Housing Program, recognize Bladen County Animal Shelter Supervisor Karen Suggs and go into closed session to discuss an economic development issue at its regularly scheduled meeting.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Assembly Room on the lower level of the Bladen County Courthouse in Elizabethtown. The meeting is open to the public.

The board is expected to hear from Jim Speight of the N.C. Juvenile Justice System and U.S. Marshal Mike East about Bladen County’s agreement with the Marshal’s Office in regard to the Federal Inmnate Housing Program.

Among other items, the board is expected to consider a bid to to purchase county-owned property on Bladen Union Church Road and consider resolutions for the state to take over maintenance of four roads.
