The Bladen County Board of Commissioners on Monday are expected to consider approved an agreement with Hall Tree Service for stream debris removal of the Big Swamp-Section 5 during its regularly scheduled meeting.
The meeting is set to begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be in the Commissioners’ Room which is located in the lower level of the Bladen County Courthouse in Elizabethtown. The meeting is open to the public.
Soil and Water Conservation District Director Dean Morris will provide an overview of the $60,000 agreement with Hall Tree Service to clean out 17,241 linear feet of the Big Swamp-Section 5, according to the board’s agenda. Planned work is expected to begin at State Road 1004 in Tar Heel and extend upstream.
Among other items on Monday’s agenda are:
• A 40-item consent list which includes fireworks at Bay Tree Lakes on July 2 and Goldston’s Beach at White Lake on July 4 and approval of sale of four county-owned properties for a total of $16,724.
• Recognition of employee Sandra Rich, who retired effective June 1.
• Oath of office administered to Tax Assessor Renee Davis. She has been the assessor since 2015.
• Hear reports from Trillium Health Resources Southern Regional Director Dennis Williams, American Flood Coalition Carolinas Director Tony McEwen and Enterprise Fleet Management Account Executive Wesley Thompson.
