The Bladen County Board of Commissioners are expected to receive an update regarding COVID-19 from Health and Human Services Director Dr. Terri Duncan on Monday during their regularly scheduled meeting.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Superior Courtroom, which is located on the second floor of the courthouse in Elizabethtown. The meeting also can be accessed by phone by calling 571-317-3122 and using access code 377-006-581.

As of Oct. 3, Bladen County had 938 positive cases of COVID-19 with a 6.7% positive-test rate, according to the Health Department. There had been 17 deaths while 858 people had recovered.

The Board is expected to consider approving three temporary Health Department positions which would be funded by a COVID-19 grant.
