The Bladen County Committee of 100 held their annual meeting Thursday evening at the Powell-Melvin Agricultural Service Center in Elizabethtown.
David Clark and Mac Campbell, Jr. lead a discussion on building a business in Bladen County and made some suggestions related to regulations and personnel as they looked into the future.  Clark and his family are owners of several businesses in Bladen including Sampson Bladen Oil, Handi Hugo food marts and Camp Clearwater at White Lake.
Campbell and his family own Campbell Oil, Minuteman Food Marts as well as other local businesses.
Campbell and Clark were presented Lifetime Memberships in the Committee of 100.
Lewis Tatum was recognized for his years of service as a longtime leader of Bladen’s Bloomin’ and Bladen Agri-Industrial.  He recently retired from the Board and was presented a Distinguished Service Award.
Pat DeVane, Hayes Petteway, Wilbur Ward and Dennis Troy were re-elected to the Board of Directors for a 3 year term.
Hayes Petteway presided over the meeting as President of the Bladen County Committee of 100.
Chuck Heustess gave an update on EDC activities in the county over the past year and Leon Martin, Treasurer, gave a report on the financial status of the committee.
