Dublin – Bladen Community College welcomes fall semester students with a convocation celebration on Tuesday, August 30.  The convocation marks the opening of the college’s academic year.

The speakers for the convocation are student ambassadors, Chris Carroll, Amber Johnson, Savannah Locklear, and Taryn Strickland.

Staff and faculty individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the success of the college will be recognized by President William Findt. 

Former student Willie Corbett, the 2016 statewide recipient of the Dallas Herring Achievement Award will be recognized. The Dallas Herring Achievement Award winner is selected by the North Carolina Community College System from a field of nominees from 58 community colleges. It is the highest and most distinguished recognition a community college student in North Carolina can achieve.

Following the program, the Student Government Association will provide lunch for students.
