The Bladen County 12U All-Stars begin play in the State-Wide Activities Committee (SWAC) State Softball Tournament Saturday at 10:45 a.m.against Holly Springs in Williamston.

Bladen County won the SWAC Eastern Sectional last weekend with an 8-1 victory over Onslow County. Bladen County is the No. 1 seed from the East, while Holly Springs is the No. 2 seed from the West Sectional.

Other teams competing in the State Tournament are No. 1 West seed Goldston and Williamston, the host team. Bladen County will play at least two games Saturday – either at 4 p.m. if they win the first game or at 2:15 if they lose.

The double-elimination event is being held at Godwin-Coppage Park at 1172 Tyner Rd in Williamston.
