Bladen County Seal with In God We Trust 1The Bladen County Board of Commissioners is set to meet Monday, Oct. 3, at 6:30 p.m. in the Commissioner’s meeting room in the basement of the Bladen County Courthouse.

The board will open the evening with a public hearing to receive comments from the public regarding the intent to sell the Medicare-certified Bladen County Home Health Agency, pursuant to North Carolina General Statue 131E-13.

Under Matters of Interest to commissioners, the board will meet the new Division on Aging Director Kelly Roberson; recognize the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Food and Nutrition program employees; present a proclamation declaring October as National 4H month; and present a proclamation declaring October as National Domestic Violence Awareness month.

Eastpointe Chief Executive Officer Sarah Stroud will address the board.

Bladen County Sheriff Jim McVicker is expected to address the board with a request to create anew position at the Sheriff’s Office. The position, if approved, will be Training and School Safety Coordinator and will be partially funded by the Board of Education and the remaining funding is in the Sheriff’s Office budget, according to a memo to the board.

The board is expected to receive the calendar update form Bladen County Manager Greg Martin.
