The Bladen County Board of Commissioners will Monday night and make several presentations as well as conduct a public hearing. 

Items for the consent agenda include approving the proposed agenda, the minutes of the March 19 regular meeting, budget amendments, county attorney invoices in the amount of $5,795, a proclamation for National Telecommunications Week, a proclamation for Sexual Assault Awareness month, a proclamation for Child Abuse Awareness month, approval of the use of the Courthouse lawn for a Child Abuse Awareness Event from 12 noon until 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 28, schedule a public hearing for 6:30 p.m. on Monday, April 16, regarding a rezoning request, approve the Health Department fees, eligibility, and billing policy and procedure, approve the Health Department fixed assets policy, approve the Health Department Internal Control Policy, approve the Health Department New Employee Orientation procedure, and approve the Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery Application.

The Commissioners will also conduct a public hearing to receive public comments regarding a proposed text amendment to the Bladen County Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance.

The board will also hold special recognition and present proclamations as follows: Presentation of the National Public Safety Telecommunicator’s Week proclamation, presentation fo the Child Abuse Awareness Month proclamation, presentation of the sexual assault awareness month proclamation, recognize Janet Miller and Captain Jeff Bridgers for their retirement, and recognize county employees for their years of service. 

The Commissioners will also consider approving a service agreement for storm debris removal in Black River. 

The Commissioners will consider an appointment to the White Lake Planning and Zoning Advisory Committee. 

Bladen County Manager Greg Martin will present the board a calendar update and request they consider scheduling a special meeting with their legislative delegation, schedule special meeting  regarding the proposed 2018-19 Budget, schedule a special meeting regarding the Board fo Equalization and Review role and responsibilities, and to ask the board to consider waiving the solid waste fees on behalf of Alvin Butler.
