The Bladen County Board of Commissioners will meet on Monday, June 5, at 6:30 p.m. in the Commissioners Meeting Room in the basement of the Bladen County Courthouse.

Items to be approved in the consent agenda are Minutes of May 15, 2017 Special Meeting; Minutes of May 15, 2017 Regular Meeting; Minutes of May 22, 2017 Special Meeting; budget amendments; County Attorney Invoices totaling $7,875;  Tax Releases No. 4-17; a request for waiver of permit fees; NCACC Risk Pool Workers Compensation and General Liability Insurance Renewals for FY 2017-18; Fireworks Display at Bay Tree Lakes POA on July 1, 2017 or Undetermined Rain Date in Accordance with NCGS 14:410-413; Fireworks Display at Goldston’s Beach on July 4, 2017 or Undetermined Rain Date in Accordance with NCGS 14:410-413; Medical Director’s Contract for Bladen County Emergency Medical Services; Elder Abuse Awareness Day Proclamation; Use Agreement with USDA-Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service-Wildlife Services; Full-Time In-Home Aide Position for Division on Aging.

The board is also scheduled to present the Elder Abuse Proclamation and Chairman Charles Ray Peterson will provide information regarding a program sponsored by the US Motto Action Committee. The purpose of the committee is to defend, promote and assist in raising awareness of the US motto “In God We Trust.”

The Commissioners are scheduled to conduct two public hearings. The first public hearing will be to receive comments from the public on the proposed FY 2017-18 budget and the second public hearing will be to receive comments from the public regarding the proposed FY2017-18 Economic Development budget.

Bladen County Tax Administrator Renee Davis is scheduled to ask the Commissioners to consider approving a bid for county-owned property.

Bladen County Department of Health and Human Services Director David Howard is scheduled to ask the board to consider approving an Affordable Care Act repeal letter.

The board will also be presented with several advisory board appointments to be approved at the June 19 meeting.

Bladen County Manager Greg Martin will present a calendar update and update the board regarding County Commissioners photos.

The board is scheduled to hold a closed session for matters of client-attorney privilege.
