The Bladen County Board of Education met in their regular session on Monday night and approved a new curriculum for carpentry at East Bladen High School.

The new curriculum was presented to the board by Ms. Willa Dean Williams, Director of Career and Technical Education. According to reports, the new carpentry curriculum will be offered in collaboration with Bladen Community College, making it possible for students to earn college credit.

The board approved the proposed curriculum.

In other business:

*The board heard an update from Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum & Instruction Dr. Tanya Head regarding the pre-Kindergarten program.

*The board voted to approve the approve the Title I application, according to Board of Education Chairman Vinston Rozier.

*The board also voted to approve overnight field trips and the spring policy updates, according to Rozier.

*The board voted to approve the certified and classified personnel lists.
