The Bladen County Board of Education will meet on Monday in the meeting room at the Bladen County Board of Education office.
In Spotlights and Recognition, the board will recognize ServSafe certified students, HOSA competition winners form East Bladen and West Bladen High Schools, Alpha Kappa School Employee of the Year, FCCLA State officer, National Beta club winners from Bladenboro Middle School, and award the student attendance banners.
Phyllis Miller and Sadie Perry are also scheduled to address the board.
The board is scheduled to receive information regarding E-rate Category One Services for 2016-17 from Jason Atkinson, learn about the e-newsletter and hear a STEM update from Bladen County Schools Public Information Officer Valerie Newton, receive a financial summary from Finance Officer Sharon Penny, the fall CTE newsletter from Willa Dean Williams.
Action items for the evening will see the board voting on NC School Board Association Custom Policy Updates, Voice Over IP Voice services contract, overnight filed trips, budget amendments, fundraising requests, and approval of education app.
The board is scheduled for a closed session regarding personnel, student issues and legal issues. Once the board leaves closed session they are scheduled to vote on the personnel matters and on an improper equipment fee lawsuit.
