The Bladen County Board of Education has a regularly scheduled meeting planned for today, July 20, 2020, at 6:00 p.m. The Bladen County Schools posted a notice on their website two weeks ago the date of the meeting and stated, “A web link will be activated prior to the meeting to allow the public to listen to the meeting virtually.” At this time the web link has not been published.

Valerie F. Newton, Public Relations & Information Officer with Bladen County Schools, announced this afternoon a special called meeting for the Bladen County Board of Education.
According to the Bladen County Schools website, the school board must make informed decisions in the following areas:
Establishing budgets
Community engagement
Adopting a school calendar
Ensuring adequate school facilities exist
Working with county commissioners
Advocating for public school education
The Bladen County Board of Education will meet in a special called session on Thursday, July 23, 2020, at 5:30 p.m. The meeting will be conducted virtually.
This meeting aims to approve the Bladen County Schools 2020/2021 school year reopening plans based on the COVID-19 pandemic, as per NCGS 115C.47.
A hyperlink will be activated prior to the meeting to allow the public to virtually listen to the meeting. The meeting link will be published and accessible on the Bladen County Schools’ website at www.bladen.k12.nc.us, and on the Bladen County Schools’ Facebook and Twitter social media pages at https://www.facebook.com/BladenCountySchools/ and https://twitter.com/BladenCountySch
Any person wishing to share comments or concerns with the board during the citizen participation section of the agenda will need to email their comment or concern to comments@bladen.k12.nc.usno later than 12:30 P.M. on Wednesday, July 22, 2020. During the citizen participation section of the agenda, the comments will be read aloud to the board.
