Bladen County Schools has a regular monthly Board of Education meeting today, October 11, 2021, starting at 6 p.m. The plan for the meeting holds various topics for discussion, review, and action items.

On the agenda is a Maintenance Update from Mr. Worley, a Review of Accountability Data (2020-21 School Year) presented by Dr. Anthony Hinson, and a Mako COVID-19 Testing in Schools presentation by Nurse Lanier.

Consent items will also be covered. One item includes a Parent and Family Engagement Plan.

The Parent and Family Engagement Plan states, parents and families are encouraged to make suggestions, ask questions, participate in surveys, visit the school campus, and be involved at all levels of the school operation; Allow for two-way communication. Parents and families will have access to various Title I information brochures provided by NCDPI. The district will seek recommendations from parents on how to enhance the school-home connection.

Action items on the agenda are listed as Face Coverings, COVID-19 Supplemental Pay for Employees, and School Improvement Plans. A closed session is also on the agenda. 

The Bladen County Board of Education meeting will be held at the Bladen County Schools District office located at 1489 US Highway 701 South in Elizabethtown. The meeting is open to the public.
