The last day in October is always a day of festivities in Bladen County. Yesterday was no exception. Businesses, schools, churches and citizens all reported a day of fun times.

Bladen County Schools’ had teachers and students dressing up for school and for the Tent or Treat held in Elizabethtown. Elizabethtown Middle School staff all dressed in the best pirate attire.

The Foundation Church organized a Tent or Treat at Lloyd Park to help promote local businesses in Bladen County as well as to have an event for families to enjoy on the busy day. There were over 25 businesses represented during the Tent or Treat.

Other churches like, Dublin First Baptist Church held Fall Festivals with bounces houses, trunk or treats, games, food and more for everyone to enjoy.

Emereau: Bladen held a Book Ball with a door decorating contest. Cape Fear Vineyard and Winery’s Alex Munroe, Judith Scott and their mysterious waitress judged the doors at the local public charter school. Emereau’s teachers had decorated their doors with different book themes to help with excitement of the evening’s ball.

Cape Fear Vineyard & Winery was not the only business to help celebrate the day. Sandhills Behavioral Center and other businesses offered candy for trick or treating kiddos. All in all October 31st of 2017 in Bladen County was all treats with very few tricks.
