The 31st Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. parade in downtown Elizabethtown celebrated Dr. King’s dream with style. There were floats, Queens, car clubs, horses, motorcycles, business and political leaders all enduring the 30 degree weather for the big event.

Kierra Whitted said the motorcycles were her favorite part. Smiles were seen on parade watchers faces all throughout the parade.

Bladen County Commissioner Arthur Bullock and his daughter helped to organize the parade. Celebrations are taking place throughout the day and week in Bladen County to continue to celebrate the Rev. Dr. King and his extraordinary dream.

Famous Boxer James “Bone Crusher” Smith is celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. after his ride in the parade as Grand Marshal by helping to make a difference in Bladen County. He is selling BBQ plates to help his non-profit “Champion for Kids.”
