Bladen County churches have stepped up to help feed neighbors during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Dr. Q. Jimmel Williamson, Pastor at Pleasant Union Missionary Baptist Church, helped coordinate a mission event with 10 area churches in the Hammon’s Creek Associational body, which is part of the General State Baptist Convention of North Carolina.
Dr. Williamson explained, “We are just trying to share love and cheer in this year where we have so much turmoil.”
Vegetables and other items to help prepare Christmas dinner filled a hundred boxes on the church’s steps Thursday afternoon. Dr. Williamson said there would be two more food drop-off mission projects this year.
“We will deliver them to who is in the most need,” Dr. Williamson added.
The participating churches span across Bladen County. If you would like more information about the food ministry, contact one of the participating churches listed below.
