Update 2: According to North Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper A. Godwin, Ashley S. Trivette, a member of the Bladen County Board of Commissioners was arrested on US 17 in Brunswick County near State Road 1131.

According to Trooper Godwin, Commissioner Trivette blew a .10 on the breathalyzer. The legal limit in North Carolina is .08.

Her court date is set for November 20th, 2017, in Brunswick County District Court.

Updated: Friday, October 6th, Ashley S. Trivette, a member of the Bladen County Board of Commissioners was arrested for Driving While Impaired, according to Brunswick County law enforcement records. BladenOnline.com staff reached out to Ms. Trivette on Saturday.

“I was charged with it and I have 10 days to appeal it,” said Trivette when she was asked about the arrest report.

Ms. Trivette also confirmed reports of a minor child being in the vehicle with her when she was charged. The Department of Social Services is involved, according Trivette.

According to the local elected official, she had two glasses of wine at lunch on Friday. More information will be provided as soon as it becomes available.
