The Bladen County Board of Commissioners will meet on Monday night in the Commissioners meeting room in the basement of the Bladen County Courthouse. The Commissioners will honor Dr. Pearly Graham Hoskins and recognize Danette Sessoms for her retirement.

The board is expected to approve several items on the consent agenda. They are the proposed agenda, the minutes of February 4, 2019 regular meeting, budget amendments, County Attorney invoices totaling $5,125, Tax Releases No. 1-19, schedule a Public Hearing regarding a rezoning Request for 6:30 p.m. on Monday, March 11, 2019, a resolution in honor of Pearly B. Graham-Hoskins, MD, Spectrum service quote No. 10989042 for Telephone Service and Wireless Internet at the East Arcadia Senior Center.

The Board will conduct a preliminary budget public hearing to receive comments from the public regarding the priorities the 2019-20 budget.

The board will  be asked to either accept or decline a bid in the amount of $4,880 for County Owned Property located at 1756 Lloyd Road, Carvers Creek
and to consider accepting or declining a bid in the amount of $1,500 for County property located at 785 Barney Coe Road.

Bladen County Health and Human Services Director Terri Duncan will present several items to the Commissioners.  Duncan will ask the board to consider approving charges in the amount of $8.69 for childbirth classes, to consider approving an agreement for EMS Clinical Affiliation with Robeson Community College regarding phlebotomy students, consider approving a Safe Kids Grant Agreement in the amount of $400 and to consider approving an Operation Medicine Drop Grant Agreement in the amount of $400.

Finance Director Lisa Coleman will present the  Financial Dashboard for the period ending January 31, 2019 and ask the board to consider approving a contract to audit accounts for Fiscal Year Ending June 30, 2019 and management letter with Thompson, Scott, Price, Adams and Company.

The Commissioners will be asked to  consider approving change order No. 1 to D. G. Jackson Construction, Inc. Brown’s Creek Stream Debris Removal Project.

The Commissioners will consider several advisory board appointments and Bladen County Manager Greg Martin will present the calendar update and ask the board to consider approving authorized agents and a maintenance agreement for the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program.
