The Bladen County Board of Commissioners will meet Monday night, March 21, at the Bladen County Commissioners meeting room in the Bladen County Courthouse and will hold a public hearing regarding the proposed 2016-17 county budget.
There will also be a recognition for Robert Mazur for his retirement which will become effective on March 31 and also to recognize the East Bladen High School Lady Eagles basketball team.
The board also will mull an appropriation to the Miss North Carolina contestants Haven Cashwell and Anna Grace Allen.
Finance Director Lisa Coleman is expected to give an overview of the fiscal year audit for 2014-15, go over the financial dashboard for period ending February 2016, approving a contract for audit services with Thompson, Price, Scott, Adams and Company.
The board will also hear from Interim Health and Human Services Director Wayne Raynor regarding an agreement with On Target Preparedness, LLC and approve a consolidated services agreement with the State of North Carolina.
The board will also make appointments to the following advisory boards: Bladen County Planning Board, Juvenile Crime Prevention Council, Keep Bladen Beautiful, White Lake Planning and Zoning Board of Adjustment.
The board is expected to schedule a special meeting regarding property tax matters, scheduling a special meeting to meet with the Legislative delegation, approve an agreement with ECS Carolinas, LLP for Special Inspection Services related to law enforcement and detention center construction, approving the selection of Moffat-Nichols to provide engineering services regarding a Cape Fear River Lock and Dam 2 & 3 fish passage restoration project.
The board is scheduled to hold a closed session for personal matters.
Consent items to be approved include, budget amendments, tax releases and refunds, a proclamation honoring the Lady Eagles basketball team, Bladen County Health and Human Services Advisory Committee Operating Procedures, and the law enforcement and detention center capital project ordinance.
