Bladen County Seal with In God We Trust 1The Bladen County Board of Commissioners is set to meet on Monday night at 6:30 p.m. in the Commissioners meeting room in the Bladen County Courthouse.

 

The board is expected to recognize Beverly Spaulding for her retirement effective July 31 and to recognize the Bladen County All Star 10U Team.

 

Blair Bordeaux is scheduled to give an update to the board regarding the Bladen County Detention and Law Enforcement Center construction project.

 

Bladen County Parks and Recreation Director Grant Pait is expected to present information regarding his department to the board.

Bladen County Tax Assessor Renee Davis will ask the board to consider approving the unpaid tax report for the period 2006-2015 and to consider adopting an order for the Tax Collector to collect taxes charged in the tax records and receipts.

 

Bladen County Finance Director Lisa Coleman is expected to present the financial dashboard for the period ending July 31 and review the estimated fund balance for the period ending June 30.

 

The Bladen County Department of Health and Human Services Director David Howard will present several items.  They include: a request to consider approving updated Health Department policies; consider approving FY 2016-17 Medication Assistance Program (MAP) grant application; to consider approving the Board of Health rule for rabies post exposure management of dogs and cats; consider approving an agreement with Eastpointe regarding placement of a kiosk; and consider approving FY 16-17 renewal agreements regarding the Young Families Connect Program.

 

The board is expected to consider appointments to the Highway Safety Committee, Juvenile Crime Prevention Council, and the White Lake Planning and Zoning Board (ETJ).

 

Bladen County Manager Greg Martin is expected to present a calendar update and an overview of the Rural Impact County Challenge, and ask the board to adopt resolution regarding same.

 

The board is scheduled to hold a closed session regarding matters of client-attorney privilege.

 

Under the consent agenda the board is expected to approve the minutes from the previous meeting and approve budget amendments; county attorney invoices; tax refunds and releases No. 7-16; Resolution Recognizing Bladen County All Star 10U Softball Team; and FY 2016-17 Rural Operating Assistance Program (ROAP) grant application.
