Due to the Labor Day holiday, the Bladen County Board of Commissioners will meet tonight (Tuesday, September 4) at 6:30 p.m. in the Commissioners Meeting Room in the basement of the Bladen County Courthouse in Elizabethtown.

The consent agenda will consist of the proposed agenda, minutes of the August 20, 2018 regular meeting, budget amendments, County Attorney invoices totaling $2.925, fiscal year 2018-19 Non-Emergency Medicaid Transportation Agreement with JOSS Transportation, fiscal year 2018-19 Non-Emergency Medicaid Transportation Agreement with West Bladen Assisted Living, LLC, fiscal year 2018-19 Non-Emergency Medicaid Transportation Agreement with Woods Transportation, fiscal year 2018-19 Non-Emergency Medicaid Transportation Agreement with Young Wings, LLC, Adoption of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month Proclamation and a proposal from PSA Electronic Systems, Inc.

The Commissioners will recognize Tony Sessoms on his retirement which was effective September 1.

Danielle Darkangelo, the Executive Director of the Cape Fear Resource Conservation and Development, will give an update to the Commissioners regarding a project to assess the aquatic activity in the Black River and will present a memorandum of understanding and cooperative agreement for the board to consider regarding the project.

Bladen County Soil Conservation Director Dean Morris will present to the Commissioners a service agreement with D. G. Jackson Construction for Storm Debris removal on the Lower South River.

Sheila Rains, Communicable Disease Nurse with the Bladen County Health and Human Services Agency, will give an update to the board regarding the County’s Communicable Disease Program.

Bladen County Tax Administrator Renee Davis will present a bid to the board for a county owned property located on Natmore Road. She will also present a second bid for the board to consider for a county owned property located on Figure Nine Road. The board can either accept or decline the bids.

Robin Hewett, Director of Bladen County’s Computer Operations, will present an update regarding information technology.

The board will consider advisory board appointments for the Hickory Grove Fire Service District, the Industrial and Pollution Control Financing Authority and Kelly Fire Service District.

Bladen County Manager Greg Martin will present the Bladen Community College budget for fiscal year 2018-19.
