The Bladen County Board of Commissioners will meet Monday, Feb. 4, 2019, at 6:30 p.m. in the Commissioners Meeting Room in the basement of the Bladen County Courthouse in Elizabethtown.

The board will consider approving a consent which includes the proposed agenda, the minutes of the January 22, 2019 regular meeting, budget amendments, County attorney invoices totaling $4,225, and a Lu Mil Vineyard private event request form for the benefit of Tax Administration.

The Commissioners will hear from Bladen Community College President Amanda Lee, newly hired Bladen County Health and Human Services Director Terri Duncan and Duncan will receive her oath of office.

The Commissioners will be asked to approve a request from Bladen County Schools for emergency shelter coverage overtime compensation. The board will hear  a request from the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office to hire one additional school resource officer for Bladen County Schools.

Tax Advisor Renee Davis will be present the unpaid tax list for 2018 and the board will be asked to consider establishing a deadline for payment of 2018 taxes to avoid being published in the unpaid tax list in the media .

The Board will consider advisory board appointments to the Bladen Community College Board of Trustees, Child Fatality Prevention Team, Lumber River Council of Governments Region N Aging Advisory Board, and Nursing Home Advisory Committee.

Bladen County Manager Greg Martin will present a calendar update and an update on the Hometown Strong Visit.

The board will meet in closed session to consider a personnel issue.
