The Bladen County Board of Commissioners will meet Monday, March 11, 2019, at 6:30 p.m. for their regular meeting in the Commissioners Meeting Room in the basement of the Bladen County Courthouse in Elizabethtown.

One of the items for consideration is the scheduling of a special meeting regarding the Kelly Dike. The White Oak Dike in Kelly was breached during Hurricane Florence flooding many residents’ homes.

The board will also conduct a public hearing in regards to a rezoning request for property located at 3785 Cromartie Road. The request was originally submitted on January 22nd, 2019, by Daniel Nieves to establish an auto sales business.

The Commissioners will also be asked to approve a consent agenda which includes approval of the agenda, approval of the minutes from the February 13th retreat, the minutes of the February 18th meeting, budget amendments, County Attorney invoices totaling $2,812, the fiscal year 2019-20 Bladenboro Fire Department funding agreement, the fiscal year 2019-20 municipal fire department funding agreement, the 2019-20 rural fire department funding agreement, and a memorandum of license agreement between the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office and Bobby R. and Janice E. Guyton for the period of March 1, 2019 through February 28, 2022 at a cost of $12,600.

The Commissioners will receive an update regarding the Bladen County Health Department Accreditation process. They will also receive an updated regarding the preparations for the 2020 US Census.

Bladen County Tax Administrator Renee Davis will present a bid to the Commissioners for consideration for a County owned property located at 2229 Spring Branch Road, Tar Heel, in the amount of $7,400.

Bladen County Soil and Water Conservation District Director Dean Morris will present a service agreement from D. G. Jackson Construction for debris removal from Bryant Swamp.

Bladen County Finance Director Lisa Coleman will present a request to authorize the finance officer and Bladen County Manager to proceed with PayChex as a time and attendance application.

The Commissioners will also consider scheduling a planning session, hear updates on the Beaver Management program, Hurricane Matthew hazard mitigation grant programs and Hurricane Florence Hazard Mitigation Grant Programs.

The Commissioners will also be asked to approve a SpyGlass Snapshot Audit Agreement including a letter of agency authorization to access telephone records.
