BLADENBORO – Weston Hilburn and Hunter Hester combined to pitch a no-hitter and strike out 8 batters to lead the Bladenboro Reds to an 11-0 victory over Tar Heel in Bladen County Dixie Youth Baseball Minor League action Friday night.

Hilburn pitched the first 2-plus innings and struck out 3 batters while walking one. Hester worked the final 2 innings on the mound and struck out 5 batters, walked one and hit one.

Jackson Pait and Hester drew walks and scored runs in the Reds first inning. Jackie Combs ripped a grounder past the shortstop and scored the other Bladenboro run in the first inning.

The Reds tacked on four more runs in the second. Paiton Bordeaux, Kendell Lesane and Braylen Merritt drew walks and scored runs. Hilburn drilled a grounder past the shortstop and scored to push the Reds lead to 7-0.

Combs, Deiken Moretz and Lesane all drew walks and scored runs in the Bladenboro third inning. Pait slapped a single to left and scored the final Reds run.

Pait, Combs and Lesane scored 2 runs each for the winners. Pait, Combs and Hilburn contributed one hit each for the Reds. Merritt, Hilburn, Hester, Moretz and Bordeaux scored one run each.

Kaleb Gaddy pitched the first 3.2 innings for Tar Heel and struck out 7 batters.
