Bladen County employees were presented training by the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office for Critical Incidents last week. This training fosters work place safety and awareness concepts.

Bladen County Sheriff Jim McVicker wanted this training completed to enhance employee safety at work and at home, according to Sgt. Gary Turlington of the BCSO Training Division. Additionally, through employee awareness the community is better prepared by having these leaders trained in Crisis Response ideology. Bladen County Manager Greg Martin’s office fully supported the training session, stated Sgt. Turlington.

“Safety is a lifestyle and mindset. It doesn’t favor the untrained and unprepared,” said Sgt. Turlington.

According to Turlington, there were six classes delivered last week and more than 300 individuals received the training over a three day period. Instructors for the classes were Sgt. Turlington and Sgt. Barry Pait.
