Bladen County Farm Bureau is now accepting applications for their scholarships. The Cecil McClure
Memorial Scholarship provides $500 per year for four years while attending a University or College. The
NC Farm Bureau R. Flake Shaw Scholarship provides $4,000 per year for four years while attending a
University or College. There is also a Community College scholarship awarded for $1,000 per year for
two years. The Bladen County Farm Bureau Scholarship offers a one year scholarship in the amount of
$1,500.00. Applicants must enroll in agriculture or in an agriculturally related field to qualify. Grant
applications are available for Bladen County teachers K-8 grades who desire to integrate agriculture into
his or her classroom. Two grants are awarded yearly. NC Farm Bureau will sponsor an Institute for
Future Agricultural Leaders at NC State University in Raleigh and NC A&T State University in Greensboro the week of June 21-26, 2020. Applicants must be a rising high school senior in the upper 1/3 of their class to apply. All applications are available by contacting Tammy Guyton at Bladen County Farm Bureau (910)645-2042.
