The town of Clarkton honored Lt. Governor Jimmy Green by naming a portion of N.C. 211 running thru the town as Green Street. Also honored were Monk Hall, town maintenance supervisor, for 35 years of service and Dave Donaldson for his prize winning design for a new town seal.
Cogentrix of North Carolina was constructing a power plant behind West Point Pepperell.
The Bladen Lakes Players were practicing to present the two act musical “Godspell”.
