The Association of Concerned Tax Payers, headed by DeWitt Clark of Clarkton, presented a petition to the County Commissioners asking for the halt of plans for building a new county airport. The petition wanted the commissioners to change the location of the proposed new airport. The petition, presented to the commissioners, had a total of 2,654 names.
Robert Lewis of Abbottsburg complained to the County Commissioners about the new Bladenboro Fire District.
The water level at White Lake had dropped 19 inches from March to December.
The Elizabethtown Board of Commissioners requested a grant of $1,000,000 from the federal government to upgrade the Newtown section of the city.
