The Clarkton High School Blue Devil’s football team was undefeated and heading to the first round state playoffs against Rosewood High School.
The White Lake Town Board decided to hold a public hearing to determine if anyone objected to the closing of Carolina Avenue. The Board also decided to retain the Nance Law Firm of Fayetteville in the Bill Edwards law suit against Town Mayor Annie Lee Smith, Commissioners Jeff Corbett and Wiley Winstead and former Commissioner Fulton McSwain. Edwards charged discrimination and is seeking $3,500,000 in compensatory damages and $2,500,000 in punitive damages.
