All towns in Bladen County were holding elections for local officials.
James B. Coleman, a teacher at Spaulding Monroe School in Bladenboro, was voted Bladen County Teacher of the Year.
A new house district was formed combining Bladen, Sampson and Pender.
Marilyn Butler was voted Bladenboro High School Homecoming Queen.
