Cadet Stephen M. Gooden, son of Mrs. Helen M. Gooden of Elizabethtown, graduated from the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York.

Coleman D. Carter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Coleman Carter of Garland and Clarkton, received the degree of Doctor of Medicine from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine.
