Bladen County Tax Collector H.M. Chason announced that tax collections for the month of June, 1971 were $44,956.73 bringing the six month total, January thru June 1971, to $1,157,663.75.
Nine wrecks were reported during the July 4 weekend with two persons injured, eight arrested and property damage of $7,325.
The Elizabethtown Police Department arrested 240 persons for the January-June, 1971 period.
